Dear Cisco, and all you Marines out there,
here`s a grin fer ya all:
My high school senior kid, the youngest, was planning to be a Marine. This was
just over a year ago. He ran, and biked, and did PE, lost 40 lbs! He had a
sticker
on his car, and a Tshirt he wore. Towards the end of HS, he came home one day,
and
said, Mom, I`m not going to join the Marines. Inwardly, I was saying, Thank you,
Lord! Outwardly, I asked, Why not? He replied, I don`t think they`ll teach me
what
I want to learn. So he graduated from HS, then proceeded to laze around all
summer. By July I`d had enough, and after a "tiff" I tossed him out, so to
speak.
Last October he joined the Navy. Now he`s in Sonar School.
Do you guys know that Navy bootcamp is like Girl Scout Camp compared to Marine
Boot today??
Yay, Paul! I didn`t raise my itty bitty baby boy in order for DIs to "cause him
some pain".
Now, before ya all come after me with a bayonet, be aware I`m very proud of the
Corps, almost became a BAM myself decades ago. But now I am a Mom, and you know
what they say, "Once a Mom, always a Mom"!!!
With best wishes, and lots of smiles,
Marsha
