I think that the 'silver sludge' buildup will become excessive befor the
40mA current unless you really INCREASE THE SIZE OF YOUR ELECTRODES.

For 14 ga / 16 ga wire, I'd watch ti closely (with them spaced 3/4"
apart0 when the current gets above about 15 mA in your setup.
