It is a pocket type meter, you pull off the bottom cap and place it in the solution (CS is this case) and stir it a bit and it has direct digital readout in ppm. It would be wise to test your distilled water first to see the ppm of the plan water (mine was very high 23ppm) and then do your silver and check again. With no salt, and running the generator for 30 min. I got a finished reading of 49 so I had maybe a 26 ppm solution. I also checked some 500 ppm commercial CS and the meter read 333ppm. I have no way of knowing if that is correct or if it is not. Some test need to be run with the meter and then have the CS sent off for an accurate ppm test to see how well the meter fairs, or if some of you have CS that has been tested and then get the meter and check it that would work. The meter is adjustable, so with it is not correct as is we may be able to adjust it to some tested CS and make it check out right. Hope that helps! Jim Einert, N.D.
