I thought this would be of interest to everyone.
Have been experimenting with CS and found it preserves milk!

I took two 8 ounce glasses of milk - in one 3 teaspoons of CS in the
other nothing.
After 1 week of sitting at room temperature the untreated is spoiling
and the treated is still drinkable!
Shows no signs of spoiling so far!
