Thank you for the explaination of terminology, Susan! On 4 Jan 98 at 16:54, Susan wrote:

Antibiotic refers to drugs that kill/stop bacteria via a specific kind of mechanism that almost certainly is *not* the same as for colloidal silver. But, given the reports from people with Lyme having Herx's can you be sure that it isn't bacteriocidal/fungicidal, and therefore antibacterial? (And antifungal?) For one such account try Nancy Bernsten's page at: http://www.connix.com/~berntsen/bb-lyme/c-silver.htm You also said: > The safest CS for internal use is made with distilled water. Silver salts are caustic, and at best reserved for > external use The only time salt is used in preparing electrolytic CS is as an electrolyte to speed production *in some protocols.* For the protocols that use salt, the actual concentration is very low, eg. 3 drops of a nearly saturated solution in 8 ounces of water. The actual toxicity of the silver salt in that concentration is probably not too serious an issue. The effect it has on the electrochemistry and the *particle size* is of more concern. Lindemann talks about this in his article at: http://www.elixa.com/silver/lindmn.htm Now, there's probably no reason you couldn't add a concentrated CS preparation to regular saline solution for topical (external) use. > ... antibiotics.
