Marsha, I think some of the thermos are metal but the wide mouth ones I have here are lined in plastic. I don't even know if they make glass ones anymore. Isn't there another layer between the inside and outside that used to be glass? I remember occasionally it would break inside but I wouldn't see the glass unless I unscrewed the bottom cap and looked inside. Glad to know it can be stored in plastic but I'm concerned mostly about "brewing" it in plastic.
