Richard,

Junk the brown bottles, and use clear 16 oz coke bottles. CS is not
light senstive. I store all of my developmental samples in the coke
bottle. The five ball feet gives one an excellent way to check if the CS
is falling out of suspension.

The clear bottle facillitates observing the Tyndall effect. A white
light will work but it is not as effective as the laser pointer. With
the laser pointer one can see differences in the size and appearance of
the beam. Large particle CS has a laser trace that is loaded with
sparklies. Work in subdued light. A strong beam is not necessarily an
indication of hing ppm but could indicate large particles but smll than
the one with sparklies.

The HVAC boys say that their 10 ppm CS has a weak Tyndall due to its
very small particle size.
