I have built and used all but the HV type for consumption. I am now using a constant >current 30 volt supply of my design. It works best when operated at 2 MA at >60 F for a work day. Fill and start at 5AM. Return home at 4PM. Empty jar >into brown bottles. I can switch 1, 2, 5 or 10 MA for longer or shorter >times. I have had less good results, but acceptable using a high impedance >supply, 30 volts and 10k or 15kOhm series resistor. This produces a short >circuit current of 3 MA or less and is good for a work day. My work schedule drives my needs. I am experimenting with using a silver generator at 48 volts in my swim pool. Still in the >experimental stage. Tom Parkhill
