It was summer; I was in shorts and barefoot, cooking a big pot of soup. Went to lift and move pot ... it tipped, back and toward me, pouring boiling soup over my legs and feet. For one instant, shock. Then, pain. Agonizing pain. Blisters immediately began to rise. In too much pain to think...certainly to drive to hospital. I remembered there was a bottle of aloe vera in the refrig. Grabbed it, tore off my shirt and soaked it, lay down on floor and drapped soaked shirt over legs. Pain much relieved. After awhile tried to stand. Blisters immediately formed and pain again. Made it to bed and lay down again. Stayed lying down, pouring aloe on shirt drapped on legs, for hours. Finally, could stand. Streaks of red where aloe didn't touch, and on feet. Couldn't get shoes on. Went barefoot to health food store and got E. Put it all over the area. Next morning. NO SIGN THAT ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED.
