I was not aware that Nystatin can cause liver damage. I do know that Nystatin does not become systemic, does not get into the bloodstream. Nizoral does and that is what makes it dangerous. The only negative side effect I had heard about Nystatin is that the yeast can and usually do become a resistant form and therefore more difficult to kill off. In fact, I had heard that about all the prescription antifungals. That is why CS is so appealing to me as it does not create resistant forms.
In my opinion, there is no antifungal that should have to be taken for 3 years or more to be effective. If it takes that long then I would think that something else has to be going on here. I person can have a great lot of old fecal buildup in their colon that can house colonies of yeast. That buildup should be removed using soil based organisms or homeostatic soil organisms or by the use of colonics. Old fecal buildup is very common and a very high percentage of people, even children, can have this buildup in their colon. Until all this is removed, disease can go on for years and years and never really get resolved. There is a person on the Yeast List that believes that candida yeast is not a basic problem and that something always underlies it. I agree but I believe what I have stated above is the underlying reason. An unclean colon can and usually does house parasites of one type or another. Usually many types. Yeast is not usually a stand alone disease. Thank you for your reply, Jeannine, Sharon -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
