Another possiblity is that a low grade fever was causing him to continously sweat, and once that went away, with the same amount of liquids being drunk, it ends up in the bladder now.
I think the real question is whether the urination is due to the bladder being full, or if it is irritated. That is, is there a full load when the urge comes on.
