Perhaps you're right, and my tone was probably too harsh; apologies for
that. But if you dig up the excellent Esquire essay, you'll realize
that that Ode's idea that people are entirely responsible for their
reality is dangerously misleading. A person featured in the article
was one of thousands of Americans killed or severely injured by
acetaminophen products. The FDA has let the public down entirely; the
stuff needs to be better regulated. I try to be well-informed, but I'd
had no idea this product could be so deadly. Two Tylenol, a few
drinks, and one can end up in the emergency room or the morgue.
