I've also wondered this. Mostly what you read indicates that it is not available. I get mine from a feed store, and when I asked about magnesium, they said, yes, it's in the Epsom salts. So I muse over whether perhaps what's good for the horse is good for the human. But maybe the ideal way to get it is through the plants.
I wondered too what the effect of various "safe" household substances are on plants. Borax, for instance, - too much is too much. What about Epsom salts (for if I let the bath water out into the garden). Then there is washing soda. One "bath salts" for rheumatism turns out to be no more than Washing Soda. lSodium Carbonate. And what about plain salt? Rowena Maybe someone can tell us if humans utilize the sulphur in Epsom Salts.
