Vinegar works great sprayed straight on the weeds- like roundup. At least at my house.

PS: makes darn good weed killer,mixed with salt and liquid dish detergent.

Distilled vinegar shines as a cleanser, but never thought of using it as a weed killer... should be fairly safe too... thanks for the tip.
