I think I can shed some light on this, Meggan... 

I've just finished reading a series of e-mails from the owner of Eskimo 
explaining some major system problems that he's dealing with right now. 
There have been a series of events/problems/attacks affecting servers 
at Eskimo, including the main web server and one of the machines that 
effects a lot of things, including list and e-mail processing. 

One result of this is that our list subscriber file may have been 
restored from a recent backup, causing anybody who changed their 
subscription between then and now to be put back to the old state of 
affairs. That may be why the change you made reversed itself.

So, you're right, it's really not your fault! I'm sorry for the 
disruption.

As I read the situation, the worst of the problems have been put back 
to rights, but he is also planning to install a new, more powerful 
server, to replace the key machine that's got problems. There may be a 
few more instabilities as those changes are rolled out, but it's 
equally likely that he'll be able to make the remaining changes without 
any further effect on our users.

The best thing for you to do is repeat the unsubscribe/subscribe 
process to get the right address working again. We'll cross our fingers 
that there won't be any more problems. I think it is very unlikely that 
you will have to do the same thing again. That particular glitch seems 
to be pretty unique.

So, anybody else who's back on the list after having already 
unsubscribed in the last few days, please accept my apologies and 
unsubscribe again.
