I remember reading this as well. I have looked for it since, and have
been unable to find it. Might have been removed from the net.

My brother is a senior aviation tech at Delta, and I have asked him
repeatedly about this - as well as the rumor of 'remote control'
capability - and he says that it just ain't so... these kinds of
thing would simply not be possible on commercial carriers, without
too many people knowing about it, and absolute, irrefutable proof
coming to light.
Technologically possible? Certainly. Is it happening? No, not through
the use of commercial airlines.
