MessageOur weanlings are in the 700 lb range right now and three of them came
down with snots. We started out putting 1/2 cup in their feed right before
giving it to them. It helped but wasn't near enough. We moved up to a cup in
each feeding (twice a day). They seem to be improving much better and believe
this will be the dose we continue with. The dogs get cs periodically in their
feed at night. I don't measure for them but they have gotten maybe an ounce or
two. The cats I periodically put in their water outside. One cat is very old
and has been getting the lumps that burst open (Carbuncles?) and we've sprayed
cs on them and they clear fairly quick.

We have a salve we mix up for the itch and it really works well. If you want
the recipe for that will be glad to send it. We have about 15 head here on the
farm at this time so we are always doctoring something.

How are you giving it to your horses and dogs and at what dosage? I'm
interested for my horses, dogs, cats etc. One of the horses has sweet itch so
I'm wondering if it'll help.

Deborah- I don't have experience with birds with cs but on all our other
animals on the farm it has been wonderful. I give it internal to our horses
and dogs. We have three of our weanling horses on it because they were getting
the snots. It's working better than Bactrim and they aren't getting the
stomach ulcers from chemical antibiotics.

If the bird was stressed and pulled it's own feathers out if it's an
internal problem causing it cs might help in it's water and would help heal any
external wounds. If it's stressed from diet imbalance you will have to address
that also. No real experience here with birds but do hope you find some
answers that help.

Deborah- If you are using silver externally I see no problem. I'm just
not knowledgeable about using it internally. I used it terrible wounds
on a duck twice a day and then put a natural salve on the wounds and
covered with a bandage and had no trouble with infection, and the skin
      and even the feathers regrew.
