This question of calcium/magnesium balance is a good one.
I had no idea that calcium deficiency could cause this kind of muscle
aches/ joint pains- I associated the cal/mag with cramps, because I had
that when I had way too much magnesium previously. Or that the gut
flora imbalance could cause calcium deficiency. I am having some
issues with gut flora, and had not been paying close attn to that, what
with the rest going on. The emergenC I took last might helped, and I
chewed up a gram of a multi calcium supp before sleep.
When I take calcium with meals, it seems to interfere with my
digestion. That could be lack of probiotics, so doubling up on those
should help with that. And maybe taking it at night for awhile.
I got way confused by advice I have gotten about calcium supplements,
and my inability to digest them. I am definitely calcium deficient,
even according to a dr, not by symptoms, but by my bones. So getting
more is in my interest. Maybe the probiotics are the real key here,
not which kind of calcium to get.
When I was young, I improved my bone density with calcium carbonate!
Which might be the least effective kind.
Thanks Paula, Deborah and Mike, I appreciate the input very much.

I would like to know if this could be a die off symptom from whatever
it

there is something specific I could be doing. I already do some sweat
baths every couple of days, with salt.
Despite what some people claim, it *is* possible to take enough CS to
disrupt your intestinal flora. In general it doesn't, because silver is
mostly inactive in the semi-solid medium of the intestinal contents,
but with enough for long enough you can disrupt things.
I did this once or twice, and had aches in my back, the large muscles
of my thighs and calves, and so on. Overall "it just hurts to move"
kind of achiness.
I happened to read that malabsorption of key minerals, notably calcium,
is one of the consequences of destroying the flora, and the symptoms I
was having were associated with an acute calcium deficiency. With that
in mind, I was able to reverse the aches and pains with a single glass
of calcium supplemented orange juice from the grocery store. Literally
within a half hour the worst of the pain was gone.
Now, that's probably not the cleverest way to reverse the problem, and
others can certainly suggest better supplement regimens, but the idea
may be worth investigating. *IF* this is what you've done, you'll need
to start restoring your flora and electrolyte balance with some
probiotics and mineral supplements.
One thing to think about...
Be well,
