...from the usual EIS/CS generators it's usually about 85% ionic, the rest
particulate.  the particulate part is what some call the colloidal.  others
say the ions are the smallest possible particles, and by definition it's all
colloidal.

mild silver protein is a carrier other than water used to keep particles
suspended in solution and not fall to the bottom and collect.  it allows a
much higher PPM of particles to stay in suspension, but also is known to be
capable of growing bacteria in the solution if contaminated even while the
silver is in it, probably because the silver is dispersed so there's room
for the bacteria to feed on the protein stuff without being in contact with
the silver.  that's what i recall from what i've read anyway.
