I have had grey around my fingernail moons for about 2-3 years at least. I have always assumed it was due to my CS intake. And when I cut back my right thumb did clear quite a bit.
But..............now I'm wondering.
I have high ferritin levels (I think that is "storage" iron?), not enough to be at risk of hemochromatosis, but enough so I've been avoiding really high iron foods. But the other day, I ate some liver and the next day part of the grey around the moon of my left thumb got a lot bigger. Now there is a section of the grey that shows out beyond the rest by double. I have been taking a bit more CS than usual too, but didn't see this sudden increase in the grey until the day after the liver.

I don't know what to make of it. Coincidence?
