I rather enjoy the occasional tangents the list ventures into. Because, I learn. Even though I know enough about CS gratis the more knowledgeable people who generously share on a regular basis, there is still more to learn. But, that does not mean that there is only CS to learn about.
In part, the multitude of interesting OTs that occassionally "pop up" ARE what contributes greatly to this lists success. For sure, I've read things that are not of interest to me, but I also understand I have options available. What else are people to do....to invigorate, to keep viable the list? Cease and desist all conversation if it is not CS related? I suspect, the silence would at times be deafening. The alleged lurkers, are charged with complaining about OT's. Energy is reciprocal - a give and take exchange. The more prolific posters are constantly infusing energy to the lists vitality. Lurkers....contribute. If its CS your interested in only, the move the conversations to a place where your inquiries will be satisfied.....by asking questions vs. just waiting for the answers to appear. The presumption would be that we are mind readers who should anticipate questions in advance. Barbara <[email protected]> wrote: That's it. Lurkers do not ask any questions, do not give any answers, do not help to keep the group on topic, but only know how to demand.... Barbara Hi Stewart, What are your questions? I will cease and desist immediately/completely from responding to any off topic subjects not directly related to CS.......to answer your CS questions to the best of my ability. If I cannot full fill your expectations, my answers fall short or are incorrect, surely, others will correct me and give you their undivided attention as well. Shoot.
