Hi Silvia,

I knew I had read about a silver based FDA approved disinfectant:

That is my problem, it needs kill TB and Pseudomonas and the commercial disinfectants will do so in a 10 minute immersion as stated on the label. It needs to have been proven in tests as working at whatever recommended strength.  We get state board inspectors that check, so I really need something that is labeled as killing these bugs.

It would be a great business venture for someone to make CS, test it for killing power at different strengths and immersion times and market it for the beauty industry.  It would sure beat the stuff we have to use now!  Toxic to me as well as the bugs.

Dan, our implements are scrubbed well before we disinfect, there is no biofilm and gunk left on them.  The disinfecting solution can get right to work killing anything left after cleaning.

I think the inspectors that inspect salons wouldn't go along with using cs as a disinfectant.

I can't give you any quantitative data on this, but can give you my
opinion...

If you wish to use colloidal silver for disinfecting things, then you
should make it yourself, as it would be cost prohibitive to buy it for
this purpose.  Perhaps the water disinfecting silver sold in Mexico
would be affordable (can't remember the name).

Also, I think I would have to add some hydrogen peroxide to the solution
to assist in the action of the CS and to dissolve biofilm and gunk so
the CS could get to it.  The solution would have to be changed
regularly.

I'm not sure how you could guarantee this method without extensive
testing.
