The Doc deals with *what is*, as best he can figure it, regardless of how
it got that way.
The only tool he/she has is persuasion, and that doesn't work against a
denial of a denial.
Most know how useless that is and just do the "patchwork" after a mild
suggestion...otherwise, no repeat patchwork AND no betterment of the customer.
They'll just go where what they want to hear gets said.

You ought to be a humor columnist, Ode. ROFLOL. That's my MIL you're
writing about, she thinks if she can live to 96 eating junk food that it
must be OK. Especially that sugarfree Aspartamed Jello. (She doesn't
know it yet but I threw it in the trash.:-)) Of course she has to take
Synthyroid because the Dr's killed her thyroid with radiation when she had
Grave's disease (hyperthyroidism) and her ankles swell if she's on her
feet a few hours because of the heart problems and medications, and then
she gets a cut and it takes 2 months to heal because her skin is so thin
and her circulation is so bad. But the Dr. is always right.
