Art, There is no 'optimum' voltage. Any voltage over 1 or 2 Volts will generate CS. (It might just take an awful long time) There are various 'recipes' or protocols, each of which have their pluses and minuses. The recipe I posted in response to your earlier question has the pluses of being very simple, repeatable, and tested to produce a particular concentration using certain parameters. The minus might be that it takes up to 3hrs to produce 10 ppm in 200mls of d. water. Every CS generator manufacturer swears that their machine is the best, I know I do ;-) But the only difference between my commercial gen and the one referred to above is the complexity of the electronics, ie the ability to run off a single 9V battery or a wall adaptor, current limit etc., all of which just means it will produce the same quality CS in a shorter time and is portable.
