Hi gang, I've just sent Bob Larson a *VERY* sternly worded warning about how *NOT* to greet new people who come to the list looking for basic information.
The Silver List is FIRST AND FOREMOST for helping those people, no matter what level they are at in the beginning. If that means we "spoon feed" them, then so be it! In the starkness of this text-only medium, most attempts at humor, particularly sarcasm or irony, will instead come across as the worst sort of rudeness and arrogance. Until you *KNOW* somebody has the sort of temperament to understand the intent of your humor, stick with a direct, kindly, and gentle approach.
