Hi, Dianne.
The cayenne website says that the Chinese used cayenne to treat
digestive problems, and there is this paragraph:
It is recommended that the cayenne powder be used, as opposed to
capsules. It is believed that you are only getting a small part of
the potential effect of cayenne pepper by taking it in capsules. When
you put cayenne in your mouth, your stomach secretes digestive juices
before the cayenne ever gets there. So when the cayenne gets down
there, your stomach is ready for it.
We found this to be true. The capsules hit the stomach and really
burned, but if we took the powder in juice, I used V-8 juice, it did
not bother the stomach at all.

Thank you so much for the web sites. I've downloaded each one for
him to read. I don't think they have started him on statins but do
have him scheduled to see a nutritionist. I have mixed feelings
about that but will have to wait and see. They have put him on
blood pressure medication.
I have talked to him about cayenne pepper before. I take it
regularly but he has a real problem with everything upsetting his
stomach. I don't know if I can get him to take the capsules or not
but downloaded the page for him to read. I'm so afraid of pushing
him in the wrong direction and something going wrong.
Thank you again,
Dianne
