There is no need for colored glass bottles, nor any need to store CS in
the dark. Unless you have unstable CS of course. If there were archives,
you could look up and read the posts of experiments people did in the
past where they kept CS in clear glass in a sunny window for months or
years.
OR, you could email Wayne, and ask him to send you those posts.
I prefer to store my CS in plastic. I have joint problems, and an
extremely weak grip, so the plastic jugs with handles that commercially
sold distilled water comes in here are perfect for me. I need the
handle, and the light weight. I do make the CS in glass though. That is
enough heavy lifting and strain on hands, wrists, and fingers for me,
LOL. I don't store CS very long, anyway, we use at least a gallon a
week. Basically the "storage" CS is the "use from" bottle, freeing up
the brew jars for new batches.

I use plain one-quart glass canning jars and I keep them in brown

Brown or dark blue glass are good but I don't have any of that so I
use what I have. Faith G.
