Hi List
I am making CS with two 9v batteries and chopped dc. with a 555 timer
and no current limiting, the electrodes (2mm dia. 85mm covered) are
about 12mm apart, using BP grade distilled water. Batch size 375ml.
I ran my first batch for 3.5hrs and got some very metalic tasting CS, no

colour, I had to wipe the cathode 3 times to get the black muck off.
The next batch I heated for 2 minutes in the microwave and, ran it for
1hr15 it tasted a whole heep better. The cathode only got muck on it
once.
The tyndal effect was evident in both batches.

Does CS taste metallic?
Is the strong stuff OK to drink?
Is there a way to approximate the ppm using a multimeter and measuring
the resistivity of the solution?
