I would like to add them to the permanent garden area we use. I want to put in
probably 20 plants/trees. I am moving our blackberries to the same location
and intend to set up permanent drip irrigation or something simular to that
section. I was told that you need to use special care planting the
blueberries, at the time the recommendation was pine bark or something in the
hole to help aid air or drainage. It's been a couple years and where I went to
get the plants they stopped handling them. We are central Florida zone 9.

We have a couple citrus trees but have lost many over the years because it can
get well below freezing here but doesn't stay that way. Just enough to kill
the trees. I found a spot south our equipment shed to plant a Red Ruby
grapefruit and it is protected some by an oak so it doesn't get hit as hard
when the freezes come. Also was able to have one orange tree east our horse
barn that has a big tree just north of it so it also gets some protection.
These have continued to be productive but have lost about five others to the
weather. It is fairly rural here and the wind can really come thru with
nothing to warm things up.

We tried some orchard trees but the late frosts usually kill the blooms and
they never produced. I miss the fruit trees from the north but admit I enjoy
the Florida weather in general.

That one is not easy. I lucked up and found all my plants at one source.

  How many plants ?
There are early, mid season, and late.

I selected all three and my harvest extends from
Early June until the end of July, and sometimes into August.

What plants are not ? Humans are too. <grin>

No need not to do it.

     Much more later............
