The strength will be the difference between the conductivity of the water at the start and the auto offs setting. If you are using the setup I think you are, that setting is around 20 uS conductivity, the LED on top is in series with the electrodes showing current flow through-the-water, so, if it's lit, there's no way you aren't making CS.
