FYI Biotape - Non-drug treatment for pain. http://shop.biotape.net/product.sc?categoryId=1&productId=10 31st August 2008. The creator of Biotape (an acupuncturist) writes: ". [I] believe the root cause of pain is broken, cut, or suppressed endogenous electrical signals between cells. To heal pain, the broken circuits must be reconnected. I developed a highly conductive, silver membrane to be applied over the site of pain. Once the membrane is applied, it acts (electrically) like a living part of the body." The theory has similarities to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I'm not too concerned if the theory is accurate or not, but if it is effective. He claims a large proportion of people report a major reduction in pain in 0-60 minutes of application. As it is not particularly expensive I ordered some for a friend with chronic fibromyaglia and headpain. Biotape was applied to her back for fibromyalgia pain in this area. She commented "This Biotape is amazing", it gave her a huge reduction in pain very quickly. She also tried the conductive headband on her 24 hour headpain, which has been unresponsive to a very long list of drugs and alternative therapies. She said something to the extent of "I feel so silly as opiates and other drugs haven't helped, but this headband has reduced the pain around 30%!"
