Greetings Del, I imagine one or two folks may have some experience with that. I will only mention that my personal experiences with spam filter products has been the annoyance of seeing these programs bounce messages back to the list server, requesting that the list server software do something to "verify" that the address is real, which the list server, of course, is not programmed to handle.
The only way for me to comply would be to spoof e-mail headers to try to impersonate the list server at least one time for each member using such a product, and again every time anything changed. I quickly decided not to cooperate and let people know I wouldn't. When you do find a good product to use, the *key* thing for you to do is exactly what you're attempting right now; that is to find out how to whitelist the list mails based on the Forwarded-by header or similar. In Outlook Express, right click on any message from the list in a mail folder and look at its properties (I think I'm remembering this right...). Poke around in the tabs or context menus until you can find a way to look at the Details or the Source of the message. In the headers, that Outlook normally conceals from you, you'll find various lines that are added by the list server and can be used to white-list them. When you get a solution you like and that doesn't require *me* to do anything (<wink!>), please let us know.
