Often wondered that myself! I guess you could, but I don't think most
of us thought of Pepto-Bismol as anything more than something you took
when you had a stomachache, certainly not as a supplement you'd take
for any length of time. If anyone did take it for a prolonged time it
probably did cure their ulcer. Beyond that, why take the Bismol if you
can take just Bismuth? It did have a nice flavor, but that would
probably get old after a few days. You don't know how much you'd have
to take to get the required dose of Bismuth!

Good question though.
