One of our more memorable, if brief episodes, was a fellow named Dameon who was a 42 year old survivor of CF who joined us for the 9 months or so before his death. To live to 42 with that disease is truly a remarkable accomplishment, which he attributed to a number of alternative therapies he had made part of his daily regimen. When he joined, he was in one of his more severe declines, suffering chronic lung infections that were interfering with sleep and had caused his weight to drop to something like 80-90 pounds. After learning to make and use CS orally and in a nebulizer, he experienced a truly exceptional result -- several sequential *months* of clean lung cultures, indicating his chronic infections were under control. His energy levels, stamina and breathing capacity were vastly improved. He was a most enthusiastic advocate for alternative therapies, including CS. He believed that if he had only known what to do when he was younger, he could have avoided most of the damage that would compromise the quality and length of his life. As it was, he lived to be among the oldest of CF victims. His final decline was rapid and involved yet another respiratory infection that was so sudden and severe that nothing could prevent his eventual collapse. There was some speculation from his family or doctors that the successful use of silver had left him more susceptible to this infection by eliminating its normal competition. So, the story is not completely, certainly positive, but it most definitely supports the notion that silver preparations may have a place in successful treament of Cystic Fibrosis. Be well, Mike D.
