As an omnivore and gardener, I fed the rabbit my lettuce..it can feed me just as well as it can feed the rattlesnake I didn't eat. Factory farming: If you've never known anything else, there's no way you can define cruel even if you have the ability to define anything.

But if you've been treated nice and have been safe all your life, what sort of betrayal is the slaughter?

Wild food carries a much greater risk of parasites...being wild food makes one dependent on good hunters to limit suffering. Rabbits, deer and squirrel are often suicidal. They can hear a twig snap at a thousand yards, yet will hide under the wheel of a really noisy car.
 'Round here, that's dinner ......if it's not too flat.

As a long-time vegetarian, I can't imagine shooting a cute, little
bunny. I even catch spiders in the house and release them somewhere out
of my way.  But if you're going to eat animal flesh, hunting is
definitely less cruel than factory farming. No doubt healthier, too.
