Hi folks,

In case there are a few new people joining us (I saw some subscribe
messages go by from some folks I didn't know), let me say welcome and
give you some idea what you've walked into! <grin>

If there's something you want to know about that is not being talked
about at the moment, please chime in with a question or two. People
will happily discuss anything you're interested in. That'll nudge
things in a direction that's useful to you.

Right now there are a sizable number of colloidal silver related topics
going on, but also some non-CS stuff as well. There are even a couple
of really off topic things that are bouncing around.

The list rules, which you'll find at www.silverlist.org, state very
clearly that CS-related stuff can be talked about 'til everybody is
satisfied (or exhausted!).

Also, any reasonable health-related question is welcome (since we're
going to get them anyway) and any related answers given, even if they
don't happen to involve CS. A good example right now is all the non-CS
advice for helping Faith deal with her flu.

All I ask is that non-CS-related things be handled more briefly, just
until basic curiosity is satisfied and important resources pointed out
so folks can continue their research elsewhere.

The really Off Topic stuff belongs on our Off Topic List, which you can
join as well if you're interested. Instructions at the above web site.

Meanwhile, I'm going to ask you all to end the budding debate on animal
husbandry, training methods, factory farming, animal cruelty, their
perception and sensory apparatus, hunting, and the proper treatment of
politicians... Not that these aren't all interesting topics, but
certainly not appropriate for the main list!

In fact, the whole subject of proper treatment of animals is one of
those areas that needs to be avoided, much like religion and politics,
since the positions tend to reduce very quickly to irredeemably
conflicting premises. Similar restraint is needed on discussions of
vegetarianism/veganism vs. meat eating, beyond minor remarks in passing
that bear on the topic at hand, which are certainly okay.

We've had a good 80 messages today, which is enough for me to ask you
all to start to restrain yourselves just a little bit, especially on
the off topic stuff, to taper the non-CS stuff as soon as reasonable,
and to economize on the short, low-content messages like "Thank you!"
and "I agree!"

Thanks folks! I always have to depend on each of you to govern your own
actions so that I don't need to step in too often and stifle things!
<smile>

Be well,
