Actually, my CS is never yellow. Another generator, which I returned, made
yellow CS, and that CS stained the glass yellow.
My current generator never mades yellow CS. Thank you Dee. I'll have to
see if I can find some of those little melamine pads just for all purpose
use.
We have a wonderful new president this morning. I am very excited. I
know it is going to be tough on him because he has inherited one h--- of a
mess, but I think he is the best man to handle it. Here's hoping. Faith

I did this, but found that after making quite a lot of CS I thought the
colour had gone yellow, but found later that it was actually the glass jar,
which had discoloured inside. I always just rinsed it with clean distilled
water after brewing, but even so, it still discoloured. This meant that I
couldn't see if my CS was yellow or not. However, after making the last
batch and tipping it into a clear glass, I could see it was the jar which
was discoloured and not the CS. This was where my little white melamine
pads came in handy. I know that if you use tap water or detergent to wash
the jar out, it can cause problems with the CS, but I used the little pad
and it all came off beautifully with just distilled water! My CS was
perfect after that. Dee

I just re-use my glass ball jars without washing them. I figure they are
cleaner than water. Faith G.
