I found this fascinating. Would the same sort of changes roughly apply in humans do you think. Assuming of course that they're only eating once a day which I quite often do.

Yes, I found it interesting also.

And I would agree, you are likely right, .......... in both your ideas,

        and

Eating one meal a day. <grin>

If it fills the bill, you feel good, have plenty of energy, then, eat only when you feel the need to do so.

I have said, for a long time, 3 meals per day,

Is an American Disaster. And I believe that.

I have one friend that has never missed Lunch, A Day in his life.

He is 100 pounds over weight, has had a few heart attacks, a diabetic, and he is a
certified chef. He can cook, ..... can he ? and he can eat.

I have a plot and a plan, ........ to make him miss lunch, one day in his life, before I die.

Yes, over the years, I have experienced some startling things.

Once I made an all day hike, thru hills, valleys, and mountains.

( no real mountains, only hills ) we do have some elevations 350, 390, and 400 feet above sea leavel. Highest point in MS is Woodall Mountain, It should be called, Woodall Hill.

I stopped for lunch on the highest hill, ate two boiled eggs, and one energy bar of some type, and water. About 10 hours later, 10, PM, I became a bit hungry, and ate a large salad.

I ate nothing else until 2 PM the next day.

I think it all depends on how efficient the body is, relative to making energy from food.

And I feel sure you know about the Emergency System the body has for making energy, when there is no energy from food. It works very well, Fantastic is the word, but only in healthy people, not so well in the sick and people with compromised body chemistry.

Even though I have never read about it, I would bet my right arm, all wild animals have the same system, and it may even work better than humans.

Yes, ........ it is a life saving system.

In studying energy for the brain, energy for the heart, ( electrolytes included ) one should provided these on a regular interval, whenever possible.

When working 30, 40, 50 and more hours, ....... straight, many times, I always made an effort to do this. Other wise, I would have hit a bridge, tree, train, or 18 wheeler, and that would be the end of the road.

The emergency energy producing system is a life saving system.
( for all animals and humans )

Hard to believe, but after working 50 and 60 hours straight, I would feel so good, I would lay
in bed and read a magazine 20 or 30 minutes before going to sleep.

Yes, anyone can tell me anything they know, about hard work and energy production, and I will listen, I even listen to the wild animals and to the dogs. They have taught me a lot over the years.

Yes they have.

We all seem to worry to much about all the details, chemistry, and the little things that mean a lot.

In most cases, ........ they will all take care of themselves.

While I did not say, ........ Why,

Even though the article given was interesting and factual no doubt,

It was not about the stomach or stomach acid at all . No, it was not.

It was about the end result, after effect, of digestion. Not about the stomach.
