Is there or is there not any truth to the idea that mixing DMSO and peroxide = MSM?
That is all I want to know..............
Well, since MSM is oxidized DMSO, it does sound plausible. I was thinking that I could mix the two, and let the DMSO evaporate out and see if any MSM is left behind. But according to another message earlier, it sounded like DMSO does not evaporate. Hmm, maybe I could boil it. I will do some experimenting and see what happens. Also maybe I could use freeze purification instead of distillation to get to any possible solute.
Hi Marshall,
I read once that DMSO attracts water from air into itself and therefore does not evaporate. It seems that must depend on the humidity of the air where the DMSO is. Left uncovered in my house (bathroom actually--should be the highest humidity of any room) DMSO does indeed evaporate.
Looking forward to what you find out.
