Hi Cindy, Good question.
Colloidal silver is the suspension of minute silver particles in water, and nothing else. A silver compound is the bonding of silver (Ag) with other elements such as clorine (AgCl), nitrate (AgNO3), sulphide (AgSO4) and so on. Mild Silver Protein, which some people on the list have used, is a silver protein compound, perhaps EDTA or glycerine, taken much the same way as one takes CS. Silvazine cream is a siver-sulpher compound that is used on burns. However, silver compounds do not have the same action as CS. Silver nitrate for instance is a good antimicrobial agent, but is toxic to man and can lead to skin and organ staining (argyria). Some silver compounds are toxic some are not, and whether they all can lead to argyria or not is not a question that one should answer from personal experience. Colloidial silver is the safest way to gain the benefits of silver.
