Yeah, I can tell you what I do...it depends on the quantity of water when I 
switch mine over.  If I'm producing 1 litre or more I use a magnetic stirrer 
and switch over every 30 minutes, for a 300ml glass I only switch once at the 
30 minute mark and stop production 30 minutes after that (1 hour).  Over 300ml 
and up to 1 litre I may do it a second time at 15 minute intervals (depending 
on the mood I'm in at the time if I'm not using the stirrer) if I do use the 
stirrer I still do it at 30 minute intervals.  I clean the electrodes each time 
I switch over also.
