I was told plastic can react with the CS so glass is a must for me.

You don't need to store CS in amber bottles.  Plain glass will do nicely.  This 
way, you can see if the CS is clear as it should be. Dee

The other day I bought an A&W root beer to drink.  It comes in a dark
amber/brown plastic bottle with screw on/off top.  I started
wondering if, rather than amber glass containers, these would work as
well for storing CS.
 
Thoughts?  Opinions?
