I have read a lot about it over many years -I believe the most likely
scenario is good ol' incompetence -the Spanish flu was a "young man's"
disease, a few short years before -young men were vaccinated with many
and various concoctions in readiness to be sent abroad to kill the enemy
-on both sides. The vaccines were primative and rough -and their immune
systems were under strain -especially due to poor diet through the war
years.It's like aids -the drug users swap needles -after years of poor
diet and attack on their immune systems.The human body is marvellous
-but like every machine -it has it's limits.If you live in Africa -don't
go unarmed into the jungle -if you do , then don't be surprised if you
are attacked by a lion, and if you are -the answer is not to kill all
lions.viruses and other pathogens -are just there to clean up -the eat
the weak -to take out the garbage so to speak, if we allow ourselves to
get weak or allow the authorities to inject us with substances that will
make us weak -then it should come as no surprise when we come down with
the flu -or worse.
