Scott,
The bacteria in his mouth probably infected the mouth of the bottle. This
happens with water bottles that people drink out of all the time. It smells
like a bad case of trench mouth because the same bacteria have colonized the
mouth of the bottle.

My friend told me tonite that he was drinking it straight out of the
PET bottle that I gave him. Can this be a possible/probable cause of
contamination? I store mine in a glass "sun tea" container and it has never
smelled. I also keep a PET water bottle next to my bed that I drink out of
every morning. Same bottle for over two years and no bad smells yet. So I'm not
sure what to think. Anywho, I've already suggested that he buys a sun tea jar
and I will provide him the silver. Thanks for the input!

I gave a friend a clear, clean, two-liter soda bottle full of
CS about a month ago. He told me this morning that it is smelling bad. Has
anyone ever heard of CS smelling bad? I've been making the stuff for 5+ years
and have never had CS smell bad. Feedback please.
