probably has to do with size of colloids- they scatter light in
different colors with different sizes. You may not have reached max
saturation, but maybe the current was higher, or maybe the ions were
bumping into each other more and became a colloid. If it bothers you,
you can wait a couple of days then add a drop or 2 of hydrogen
peroxide, that often clears it up.
