>This sounds like a classic case of Plantar Fasciitis. I, too had some plantar fasciitis years ago. Mine was from inflexible calf muscles. Once I started stretching those, it released the tension on the plantar fasciitis, and the relief was immediate. I would stretch upon rising, and whenever I felt it getting tight again. Eventually, it stayed that way most of the time. I still notice it occassionally when I've been going up and down the stairs a lot. I just do some more stretching to prevent an injury. Start out gently, though. You don't want to cause more damage.
