It really is the Xylitol and chocolate. Apparently there are some dogs that get away with eating small amounts of chocolate. Try Googling both of
them and do some reading.

By what method does it do that? I have read that chocolate does the same and my dog loves it, with no noticeable problems. Since I also sweeten with Xzlitol I would suspect he has eaten some from precleaning my dishes. Are you sure it wasn't the gum that killed the dog?
I would really like to know.

Careful with the xylitol, it will kill a dog. As little as a pack
of chewing gum found by a dog will kill it..

Where do you buy your xylitol? This replaces sugar
                doesn't it? Thanks, Leslie

                Garnet,

I use one-eighth teaspoon of xylitol in my nebulizing
                mixture. I found it
to be very effective against mold - as someone posted,
                it actually kills
mold/yeast. I really like it & still use it all the time
                for baking/making
jam etc. even though I finally got rid of the
                mold/fungus/yeast problem.

                Claire
