Thanks Kirsteen, they sent me the wrong power cord but I got two
really nice emails from them and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and
then I'll be 'away with the mixer' so to speak! dee

Yes I just leave them out. I filter the water first in a filter jug
then fill up the distiller then just put the cap on without the
filter in it.
