Well I know that anything ending with 'ase' is an enzyme proper. I don't know about the zimes bit. I buy Twinlab Super Enzymes and this has all the digestive enzymes in. The proteolytic enzymes are the ones which digest proteins only, and they are usually the ones taken on an empty stomach to digest random proteins, or antigens which have disguised themselves with protein to fool the system. They digest fibrins which attack joints ets., Digestive enzymes are just that i.e. they digest food. Bromelain and Papain are proteolytic enzymes, ie. they digest just proteins. dee
