Hi Brooks.  Of course, you are right about no oil sprays during bloom.  I
guess I was just thinking kelp spray.  :-)

fruit trees is that the spray mixture we use just before bloom contains an 
emulsified oil, with a weak sulfur fraction...which is designed to control 
scale insects and brown rot (which is endemic in our area). To expose blooms to 
ANY form of oil----would be disastrous.
